Else Zuschmann makes the wine. Peter Schofmann tends the vines. Together, they keep a classic Austrian Heuriger, a winery-tavern that offers up a traditional menu of sausages, potatoes, and wine. This Gruner they make together is a classic, well built Gruner Veltliner with all the pepper spices and green fruit a great Gruner should have. It sounds idyllic to be them, but at least we can enjoy their wines beyond the cellar door.
