2010 was an exciting vintage in the Willamette Valley. Exciting on one hand because with all the cool, rainy weather that year there was some question of the grapes ripening enough to make wine. Exciting on the other hand because the resulting wines were full of nervous energy and loud flavors! Fifteen years of bottle age have hardly dimmed that thrilling core of tension, but this wine has become so much more. Aromas of raspberry fruit leather, orange peel, and tobacco leaf come before a palate of fine silk, perfectly seamless tannins supporting dark cherry and blackberry, a hint of baking spice and and a scoop of earth. This is fine Oregon Pinot Noir at its peak.
